Khloe Kardashian, recently shared the happy news that Lamar Joseph Odom, no longer needs machines to keep him alive, but that doesn’t guarantee he’ll be back on the basketball court anytime soon.
When Lamar was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel and rushed to the hospital on Oct. 13, his chances of survival seemed bleak. Fast forward four weeks and the 6’10” former pro-athlete is making a miraculous recovery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. But just because he’s out of the coma doesn’t mean he’s out of the woods. “Lamar is doing OK, but by no means is he back to his old self,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
Standing and walking for long periods of time is a struggle,” the source adds. “So is talking to some extent and his memory has been effected. To be honest, he may never fully recover.” Wow, we can’t imagine how hard this must be for Lamar and all those that love him.
Khloe didn’t try to hide the reality of his condition in her most recent interview. The reality star told Extra’s Terri Seymour that it will be a “long, long time” before he leaves the hospital. “He will try to learn to how to walk so that is first. When he can support himself on his own, or physically try to walk better on his own, or at least with an assistance, with like a walker, then he will probably leave the hospital and do a lot of cognitive and mental strengthening
